There is very little to write about in this blog, I'm simply trying to convey the relaxing vibe of San Pedro de Atacama, the town in Chile that I arrived at after crossing over from Bolivia. It was like a kind of Byron Bay in the desert, a town full of backpackers, bars, cafes and artisan shops and a fair few dreadlocks thrown in for the hippie feel. Dusty streets, lined with peppercorn trees and adobe houses with flat roofs and hidden gardens, all in the shadow of Mt Licancabur towering over the desert to the east.

It was sunny and hot, and for three days I did very little except swim in my hotel's pool, write up my blogs in the garden, visit cafes for coffee and bars for dinner and a spa for a salt bath. Hopefully these photos express the town's laid back, happy hippie style.
